Welcome back all!
We've had a very busy end of 2011 and start to 2012 in ICT Services. The college has bought (via ICT budget and various dept budgets) close to 100 new computers. The vast majority of these are for student use and will be deployed for the start of term.
All printers have been replaced and updated. You will notice that all printers in the college are Ricoh machines and this should help staff and students to have good access to fast, secure and quality printing. Training will be in place for the start of term.
Behind the scenes, storage for digital resources has been upgraded and increased which will allow greater storage limits for both students and staff.
We are quite a way down the path of technically allowing students and staff to bring in their own devices and join the college network in a secure way. However, we still have some work to do on this so watch this space!
Lots more has been done but I'll leave it there for now .
